We are sad to announce that on January 20, 2025, at the age of 100, Mary Hammond of Andersonville, Tennessee passed away. As Mary departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Mary may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Mary leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Cook and Stella Cook; her husbands, Charles Patrick and Bennett Hammond; and her sons, Jerry Patrick, Leonard Hammond and Jack Hammond.
She is survived by: her daughters, Lynnette Currie (Jack) of Andersonville and Zola McClish of Monroe, OH; and her daughter-in-law Jean Hammond of Mt. Dora, FL. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Prosperity Cemetery.
