He is survived by: his wife Gail Underwood Mitchell; his son Sam Mitchell; his mother Sue Simmons Mitchell; his brothers, Kendall (Jean) and Brent Mitchell; his mother-in-law Geri Underwood; his close friends, John McCarty and Mark Angel; and also Sydney Mollica. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
