He is survived by: his wife Bettye Copeland Wheaton; his daughter Katie Beth Draughn (Derrick Brannam); his grandchildren, Bryson Draughn, Bryhanna Draughn, Joseph Draughn and Dakota Draughn; his brother Johnny Wheaton (Maggie); his aunt Betty Lou Beaty (Colditz); his siblings-in-law, Ronald Copeland (Kaye), John Copeland (Patricia), Robin Copeland and Sue Copeland; and his nieces, Karen Copeland Albertson and Lydia Albertson.

Father of his grandchildren: Adam Draughn, He was preceded in death by: Parents: Clifton and Joan Colditz Wheaton, Aunt: Meta Colditz Potter, Uncle: Paul Colditz, In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Unity Baptist Church.
