Ruby Mai Gibbs Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ruby Mai Gibbs of Alexandria, Tennessee, born in Lancaster, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 11, 2025 at the age of 91. She was predeceased by: her parents, Grady Moss and Johnnie Lee Fletcher Moss; her husband Freeland Gibbs; her sons, David Gibbs and Tommy Gibbs; her grandson Ethan Alvis; and her siblings, Ruth Dunn, Rose Braswell, Betty McMillen, Martha Payne and Jim Moss.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sandra Fowler, Anita Higgins (Robert) and Lisa Oakley (Clark); her daughter-in-law Sherry Gibbs; her grandchildren, Tracy Lawrence (Charlie), Monica Hendrixson (Hunter), Stacy George (Rusty), Megan Lamberson (Josh), Braiden Alvis (Brandy), Jordan Alvis (Amy), Cason Oakley (Kylie) and Addison Hackett (Tanner); her great grandchildren, Caitlyn Pedigo (Drew), Rebecca Lawrence, Olivia, Logan George, Ella, Max Hendrixson, Chase Lamberson, Jase, Jay, Damon, Emery Alvis and Easton Oakley; and her sister Margaret Jackson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home (302 W Main St, Alexandria, TN 37012). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at the Hillview Cemetery.
In addition to flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee.
