She was predeceased by: her husband Fred T. Mingie; her parents, Macey Hale and Lucy Taylor Hale; and her siblings, Bill L. Hale and Betty Jane Walker.

She is survived by: her grandchildren, Nicholas Mingie (Rebecca), Shelby Mingie, Bradley Mingie and Zachary Mingie; her great grandchild Elliot Simpson; her nephew Dale Mashburn (Melissa); and also Breck Mashburn.

It was Shirley's wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Inskip Baptist Church "Together We Can" fund.
