He was predeceased by: his mother Kathrine Cain; and his sister Billie Cadwallader. He is survived by: his wife Karen Cain; his son Jeff Cain; his stepdaughter Amanda Spain (Steve Mealey); his grandchildren, Gavin Cain, Hunter and Shelby Spain; his niece Carol Minoty; and his nephews, Lee Hinkley and Corey Pare.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to his local VFW. Donations can be mailed to VFW Post 5154, 2561 Hobbs Rd, Louisville, TN 37777 - Att: Relief Fund.
