He was predeceased by: his parents, Letta Breeden Gibson and Joe Gibson; and his siblings, Mary Ruth Amburn, Bobby Gibson and Lloyd Gibson.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Gibson; and his children, Bill Gibson, Robin Gibson, Jim Carey, Steven Hunt, Mike "Gibby" and Lori Gibson. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
