He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Lee Thomas Bowers; his parents, James Allen and Ruth Alyce Williamson Bowers; his siblings, Lloyd, Patrick, David Bowers, Sr. and Ruth A. Bowers; and his siblings-in-law, Floyd (Billie Womack) and Schlaine Thomas.
He is survived by: his siblings, John Bowers and Rose; his siblings-in-law, Richard Turner, Rosie Bowers and Joe Thomas; his nieces, Sherry Lee Bell (John) and Tina Marquita Dotson (David); his close friend Norma K. Bailey; and his friend Virginia Tarver.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Holy Ghost Catholic Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
