He was predeceased by: his wife Norma Jean Teffeteller Cutshaw; and his parents, Clarence Cutshaw and Beulah Hancox Cutshaw. He is survived by: his daughter Karen; his son-in-law Rick Thurman; his grandchildren, Heather Bradburn (Michael) and Andrew Thurman (Jill); his great grandchildren, Brenton, Thatcher, Landry, Solah Bradburn, McKinley and Teagan Thurman; his sisters, Amy Gamble and Debbie Garner; and his sister-in-law Deloris Taylor. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in his name to Disabled America Veterans or Tunnel to Towers.
