He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Lee and Pursur Cornelius Reed; and his brothers, L. Kenneth of Maryville and Pat Reed of Maryville. He is survived by: his wife Linda Lee Reed of Alcoa; his children, Katherine Reed Strobel (Joshua) of Knoxville, Lisa Boyd Russell (Jon) of Hinesville, GA, Jason Boyd (Kelly) of Alcoa and Josh Boyd (Jama) of Alcoa; his grandchildren, Tyler and Allie Boyd of Alcoa; and his siblings-in-law, DeeAnn Mendel (Isaac) of Pittsburgh, PA, Barbara Godfrey (Garry) of Alcoa and David Cunningham (Melissa) of Knoxville, TN.
He excelled in his field and retained a lifelong pride in his work as a leader in the Nuclear Centrifuge program and it's contribution to our nation's Cold War efforts. He was passionate about learning and making a contribution to his family and community.
