The memory of Maxine Johnson (Afton, Tennessee), who passed away on January 20, 2025 at the age of 91, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Renner and Lucy Renner; her husband Ralph Johnson; her sister Betty; her brother-in-law Carson Bernard; her brothers, H. A. Renner (Darleen), Ralph Renner and Robert Weems; her parents-in-law, A. W. and Arvada Johnson; her brother-in-law Freddie Shaw; her niece Ginger Lister; and her son-in-law Mark Thomas.
She is survived by: her children, Connie Holladay (Rod), Pam Cantrell (Ron), Chris Thomas and Ralph Johnson (Robin); her grandchildren, Suzanne Porter (Brady), Sarah Gibbons (Mike), Allison Pierce (Kevin), Katie Peak (Eric), Laura Fletcher (Landon), Drew Thomas (Erin) and Mischelle Young (Joe); and her sisters-in-law, Helen Johnson and Louise Shaw. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Jeffers Funeral Home (101 Graceland Ln, Afton, TN 37616). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the River Hill Cemetery (5685 Old Asheville Hwy, Greeneville, TN 37743).
