He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert Simonsen and Vivian Simonsen (Huber); his father-in-law Eddie Ellis; his sister Sherry Rye; his son-in-law Jeffrey Braxton; his brother-in-law Charlie Gust; and also, Brandie and Jack.
He is survived by: his wife Lori Simonsen of Yankton; his children, Barry Simonsen (Danta), Jennifer Williams (Ryan), Sara Pasco (Jason), Charles Simonsen (Bridget) and Kristen Lemons (Joseph); his grandchildren, Taylor Ratz (Cody), Jackson Pasco, Samantha Williams, Presley Boots (Syd), Devon Simonsen, Jeremiah Braxton, Tecla Kramer (Grant), Tamiah Barnett, Jayden Lemons (Keeva), Trayden Lemons, Mason Simonsen, Ellison Williams, Kaylee Simonsen, Kinsley Williams and Veda Lemons; his brothers, Donald Simonsen (Lynette) and Robert Simonsen (Corliss); his brother-in-law David Rye; his mother-in-law Alice Ellis; and his sisters-in-law, Barbara Gust, Judi Day (Jeff), Cathy Rayson and Amy Graham (Robert). He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
