He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Uken and Mary Uken (Gotschall); his son Daniel Uken; and his siblings, Glen, Jake, William, Leonard, Leo, Larry Uken, Lola Travnicek, Ruth Chacon, Leona Fryda and Mary Cathey.
He is survived by: his wife Lorna Thompson; his children, Patsy Uken (Larry Nelson) of Sioux Falls, SD, Cindy Uken of Palm Springs, CA, Randy Uken (Susan) of Brandon, SD and Terry Uken of Hemet, CA; and his grandsons, Eric Nelson of New Jersey, Justin Nelson (Sarah) of Springfield, IL, Jason Nelson of New Jersey and Cody Uken of Brandon, SD. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church in Yankton, SD.
