Maxine A. Hughes Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 11, 2025, at the age of 77, Maxine A. Hughes of Yankton, South Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Rolfs and Marion Rolfs (Nedergaard); her parents-in-law, Patrick and Katherine Hughes; her sister Jean Hunhoff; her siblings-in-law, Dennis Casey, Thomas Wolfe and Patricia Wolfe; and her nephews, Tommy and Christopher Wolfe.
She is survived by: her husband John; her children, Scott Hughes (Sheena) and Tara Dziengel (Andy); her grandchildren, Kaden, Daylee Hughes and Adele Dziengel; her siblings, Mary Glenn, Joan Olenich (Mike) and Bob Rolfs (Mary); and her siblings-in-law, Dick Hunhoff and Mary Casey. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home – Yankton (2901 Douglas Ave, Yankton, SD 57078). A rosary was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Benedict Catholic Church (1500 St Benedict Dr, Yankton, SD 57078).
She previously served on the Yankton Youth Soccer Board and the American Cancer Society Board.
