He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Vinton and Muriel Vinton (Stipp); and his siblings, Walter Vinton, Dorothy Mercer and Helen Stanley.

He is survived by: his wife Kathy Vinton of Yankton; his daughter Renee Donahoe (Michael) of Garden Grove, California; and his granddaughter Nicole Donahoe.
