He was predeceased by: his parents, Gregory Hintgen and Lois Hintgen (Moon); his son Dr. Anthony "Tony" Hintgen; his brother George Hintgen; his siblings-in-law, Rita Linn (John), Michael Vetter (Nancy), Earl Bihlmeyer and Larry Vetter; and his nephew Paul Vetter.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Vetter; his son Christopher Hintgen (Kristine); his grandchildren, Jonah, Joseph and Mary of Vadnais Heights, MN; his son Gregory Hintgen (Libby); his granddaughters, Clara and Gabrielle "Coco" of Sioux Falls, SD; his sister Katherine Thome (Dean) of Milwaukee, WI; his friend Yankton; and also, Lisa Rysavy, Arianna, Ericka of Phoenix, AZ, Sam and Chelsea of Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the Lewis and Clark Scout Camp and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
