He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Thomas (Rudy) and Edith Bickerstaff (Bickerstaff); and his siblings, Rudolph Thomas (Rudy), Merle Gene Thomas, Winona of Kandi, KT and Gloria Fuller.

He is survived by: his wife Pansy Thomas of Santee; his children, Corrina Johnson and Anthony Johnson of Santee; his grandchildren, Thomas Johnson of Santee, Jonathan RedOwl of Lincoln, NE, Caitlin Johnson of Winnebago, NE and Lydia Cruz of Nashville, TN; and his brothers, Rodney Thomas Sr. (Freddy) of Santee, NE., Harlan Thomas of Santee, NE. and Wyatt Thomas of Santee, NE.. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
