He was predeceased by: his parents, Wencl Starzl and Evelyn Starzl (Heller); his brother Robert Starzl; and his grandchildren, Josie Winterringer and William Salonen.
He is survived by: his wife Lynn Starzl of Yankton; his children, Stacy Hansen (Jeff) of Yankton, Nick Starzl (Danielle) of Yankton, Jenny Salonen (Todd) of Sioux Falls, Elizabeth Koerner (David) of Yankton, Megan Harskamp (Craig) of Sioux Falls, Thomas Starzl (Amy) of Winsor, Colorado, Katie Parsons (Jacob) of Pierre and John Starzl of Yankton; his siblings, Kenny Starzl of Watertown, Randy Starzl (Deb) of Crooks, Albert Starzl of Mitchell and Wendy Currier (Dale) of De Smet; and his sisters-in-law, Alice Starzl of Perham, Minnesota and Debi Kaufman (Nick) of Anniston, Alabama. He is also survived by 32 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
