He is survived by: his wife Carol Maas of Yale; his children, Jamie Hofer (Amy) of Huron and Julie Duncan (Alan) of Parker; his grandchildren, Ashley Olson (Brad), Brock Duncan (Sabrina), Andrea Duncan (Travis DeJong), Cauy Hofer (Randi), Cassie Hofer, Kali Hofer and Ellie Hofer; his great grandchildren, Harlan, Corinne, Grady Olson and Everley DeJong; his siblings, Norman Hofer (Delores) of Huron, Bill Hofer (Judy) of Minnesota, Bruce Hofer (Gayle) of Huron and Charlotte Gamber (Dave) of Emery; and his siblings-in-law, Lavonne Hofer of Arizona and Delano Hofer of Yale.
