He was predeceased by: his father Clarence Rowland; his son Reuben Rowland; his siblings, Anita Rowland and Patrick Rowland; and his grandson Brandon Lee Rowland.
He is survived by: his mother Cleon Ice of Wounded Knee, SD; his children, Jolene Rowland of Wounded Knee, SD, Gaylene Rowland of Rapid City, SD, Gabriel Rowland of Yankton, SD, Sherry Rowland of Rapid City, SD, Garry Rowland, Jr. of Wounded Knee, SD, Tatanka Rowland of Wounded Knee, SD, April Rowland of Wounded Knee, SD, Anna Rowland of Wounded Knee, SD and Danielle Greenwald of Pine Ridge, SD; and his siblings, Victoria Left Hand, Dorothy Sun Bear and David Rowland of Mitchell, SD. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
