He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Kappel and Helen Kappel (Daharsh); his wife Phyllis Hesler; his daughter Kori Kappel; and his brothers, Marvin Kappel and Gordon Kappel (Betty).
He is survived by: his sons, Carl (Nyla) of Woonsocket and Paul of Colorado; his granddaughters, Erin Baker (Aaron) of Mt Vernon, Chelsea Harem (Daniel) of Humble, TX and Kaylana Kappel of Colorado; his great grandchildren, Kale, Kolter Harem, Luke, Taylor and Harper Baker of Mt Vernon; and his sister-in-law Arlene Kappel of Stillwater, MN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
