He was predeceased by: his parents, George Johannsen and Anastasia "Ann" Johannsen (Kotzea); his wife Marlene Cardwell; his sons, Jeffrey and Randy; and his siblings, Sherry Kay, Glora Rohlfs, Marlene Rickard, Dennis Johannsen and Lee Allen Johannsen.
He is survived by: his children, Bruce Johannsen (Becky) of Milbank, SD, Julie Reyelts (Rick) of St. Francis, KS, Terry Ray Johannsen (Darcy) of Milbank, SD and Keith Johannsen (Jodie) of Huron, SD; his grandchildren, Amber Johannsen, Ryan Reyelts, Andrew Johannsen and Rachel Johannsen; and his siblings, Linda Hermans of Milbank, SD and Lonnie Johannsen of Coon Rapids, MN.
