It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Quade of Wilmot, South Dakota, who passed away on June 25, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward King and Mary Ann King (Johnston); her husband Walter Quade; her grandchildren, Sally Rondeau and Joseph Rondeau; her great grandchildren, Richard Quade and Brett Quade; her grandchild Raven Quade; her siblings, Daisy (Robert) of Northern Ireland, Elsie Simpson (Abie) of Northern Ireland, Marie Simpson (Roy) of Northern Ireland, Sally Lyons (James) of Northern Ireland, Edward King (Mary), Liverpool and England; her parents-in-law, Paul and Emma Quade; and her brother-in-law Leslie.
She is survived by: her sons, Edward Quade (Marcia) of Lincoln, NE and James Quade (Melody) of Roundup, MT; her grandchildren, David Quade (Kristi), Brian Quade (Amber), Jennifer Quade, Tamra Knight (Bryan), Melissa Poole (Mike), Dena Knutson (Ryan), Christopher Rondeau, Samuel Rondeau, Daniel Rondeau (Tausha), Patrick Rondeau (Susan Worwa), Ashley Ruesink (Darin Doschadis) and Charles Quade (Nicole Hoffman); her great grandchildren, Liam Quade, Colin Quade, Anna Chitty (Logan), Caleb Quade, Felix Quade, Gabriela Kinght, Olivia Poole, Katelyn Poole, Kaylee Knutson, Michael Knutson, Jevon Rondeau (Sydney), Jessica Rondeau (Nathan Giachino), Jada Rondeau (Matthew Morschen), Kiley Meyhoefer (Alex), Jacob Rondeau (Rachel Holzem), Mason Rondeau, Dylan Huff (Macy Gilmore), Qwade Rondeau, Paizley Rondeau, Brayden Ruesink, Brynn Ruesink, Walter Quade, Ryker Quade, Britten Knight, Taylor Knight, Jade Knight and Amanda Vosberg; and her great great grandchildren, Dawson Rondeau, Ava Rondeau and Cameron Chitty.
For her contributions to accuracy of forecasts and protection of life and property, a State of South Dakota Executive Proclamation was made as Evelyn Quade Day on September 16, 2003, by then Governor Michael Rounds, for "braving blinding snowstorms, torrential rains, sub-zero temperature, and extreme winds to provide accurate, timely, and comprehensive observation.".
