He was predeceased by: his father Fred Chaloupka; and his brothers, Richard and Thomas. He is survived by: his mother Geraldine Chaloupka (Trapp); his sibling Brooks; his wife Leslie Christianson of Wilmot, SD; his children, Katlyn Chaloupka of Wilmot, SD, Kyrin Chaloupka of Wilmot, SD and Thomas Henke (Kara) of Canton, SD; his granddaughter Aspen Henke; his siblings, Christie Wittrock (Terry) of Milbank, SD, Dolly Madsen (Dale) and Michael Chaloupka (Lorraine) of Woodbridge, VA; his siblings-in-law, Mary Chaloupka of Smyrna, Delaware and Gayle Christianson (Holly) of Piedmont, SD; and his parents-in-law, Paulette and David Christianson of Sisseton, SD. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers and can be directed to Minnwest Bank in Wilmot in Dan's name.
