We bid farewell to Walter Lee Gehrke of Willow Lake, South Dakota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 10, 2025 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert A. Gehrke and Ruth Gehrke (Thorne); his siblings, Fern Carroll, Lila Haug, Alan Gehrke and Harold Gehrke; his son Douglas Ray Gehrke; his granddaughter Jessica Noethlich; and his great grandchild Joshua Borg.
He is survived by: his wife Delores Lamb; his children, Vickie Dreher (Larry), Cindy Borg (Mark), Brian Gehrke (Patty) and Glenn Gehrke (Peggy Jennings); his grandchildren, Doug Gehrke (Heidi), Melissa Smith (Tim), Cassie Auch (Kyal), Amy Dreher, Ashley Borg (Adam) and Greg Noethlich (Liz); his great grandchildren, Ian, Bennett, Lincoln Smith, Brianne, Gabby Noethlich, Cole (Karli Marts), Madison, Maryssa Gehrke, McKenna, Gavin, Jax, Trayson Auch, Wesley, Gracie, Kylie and Avery Borg; his stepgrandchildren, Cassie Hafner (Mark) and Brittany Borg (Angel); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Preston, Scarlett Hafner, Luca and Ruby Aybar-Borg; his sister Joyce (Roy); his siblings-in-law, Marlene Lamb, Garald Harms (Vergean) and Marge Rhode; and his pet Sadie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Furness Funeral Home (402 N Commercial St, Clark, SD 57225-1243). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
