She was predeceased by: her parents, Vern Herker and Vera Herker (Beavers); her son Allen; her husband Menno H Schmidt (Babe); and her grandson Erik.
She is survived by: her sons, Terry Schmidt (Brenda) of Watertown, SD and Bob Schmidt (Melanie) of Willow Lake, SD; her grandchildren, Heather Garcia (Leo) of Charlotte, NC, Michelle Poe (Shawn), Michael Schmidt (Kelsey) of Spirit Lake, IA and Garrett Schmidt (Brooklyn) of Willow Lake, SD; her great grandchildren, Aili, Elijah, Brielle, Bella, Callista, Elise, Lowen, Abram, Vada and Hugh; her siblings, Jerry Herker (Patti), Eva (Ron) and Ron Herker (Mary Jo); and her sisters-in-law, Sally, Helen Schmidt and Laurie.
