It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Dwain Welke of Whitewood, South Dakota, who passed away on June 18, 2024, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Winfred Welke and Mayme Welke (Hermanson); his stepfather Jasper (Bud); his siblings, Fred, Bill, Darlene and Debbie; his granddaughter Hadley; and his close friend Ken.
He is survived by: his wife Sonja Vetter; his children, Jennifer Froning (Steve) of Mitchell, SD, Lori Hansen (Dennis) of Spearfish, SD, Glenda Welke of Sturgis, SD and Matthew Welke (Tiffany) of Wright, WY.; his grandchildren, Jalin, Makenna, Shelby, Hannah, Jacob, Gavin and Jordan; and his siblings, Kenneth Welke, Marlene Nichols, Mary Martell and Gary Welke.
