She was predeceased by: her parents, William Beek and Hattie Van Beek; her husband Alvin Schmidt; and her children, Keith Schmidt, Teresa Pomrenke and Brian Schmidt.
She is survived by: her sons, Paul Schmidt (Jane) and Wayne Schmidt (Rebecca); her children-in-law, Cindy, Cathy Schmidt and Myron Pomrenke; and her siblings, Gert Dykhouse, Viola Brastrom (John), Jan Clapp, Bill Van Beek (Shari), Conrad, Chuck, Alice, Cora, Willy and Harriet. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren.
