Douglas Eugene Nelson Obituary
We are sad to announce that on July 24, 2021, at the age of 82, Douglas Eugene Nelson of White, South Dakota, born in Dell Rapids, South Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Nelson and Gudrun Nelson; his brother Richard Nelson; and his sister-in-law Sherry Janssen. He is survived by: his wife Connie Janssen; his daughters, Traci Nelson (Robert Innes) and Erika Nelson Davis (Craig Spencer); his grandchildren, Amber Spaans (Carson Richmond), Tyler Spaans, Alchemy Anderson Craig (Brian) and Ian Greer; his great grandchildren, Keenan Muscsik and Qristana Spaans; his sister Dellene Dubbelde (Rodney); his aunt Rose Nelson; and his brothers-in-law, Bernie Janssen and Paul Janssen (Sharyn). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Douglas enjoyed many other pursuits; he was an active member in ST Paul's Episcopal Church in Brookings, he served on the CASA Board, Kelly McGeough Foundation, and Brookings Hospital board until his health no longer permitted him to serve.
