He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Matthews and Lizzie Matthews; and his siblings, Ralph (Bertha) and Gladyce (Wilburn Larson). He is survived by: his close friend Harold Brown; his wife Rita; and his children, Jean (Dean Hohm) of Piedmont, SD, William (Lynn) of Easton, MA, George (Tracy) of Grand Junction, CO, Gary (Dionn) of Peyton, CO, Mary (David Davies) of Phoenix, AZ, Gail (Jon Wingert) of Rapid City, SD and Jennifer (Keith Starks) of Aberdeen, SD. He is also survived by twenty-six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
