With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Larry G. Peterson of Wessington Springs, South Dakota, who passed away on February 5, 2025 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Peterson and Darlene Peterson (Barber); his sister LaVonne Cashman; and his brother-in-law Hugo Stender. He is survived by: his wife Mary Frances "Fran" Hines; his children, Michelle (Pierce Johnson), Reina Ford (Bernard) of Wessington Springs, SD, Scott Peterson (Bobbi Joe) of Miller, SD, Leslie Tanke (Kyle) and Ashley Peterson of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandchildren, Coltin Marquardt (Alyssa), Riley Marquardt (Andrea), Kambrie Eik, Logan, Cora, Nolan, Kallan Peterson, Grayden Peterson, Brooklyn Caffee, Myles and Mary Tanke; his stepgrandson Ethan Ford (Taica); his great grandchild Daniel Marquardt; his stepgreat-granddaughter Aurora Olson; his sisters, Donna Thompson (Wayne) of Pukwana, SD, Linda Uphoff (Kelly) of Woonsocket, SD, Dawn Stender of Custer, SD and Lynelle Schroeder (Ed) of Wessington Springs, SD; and his brother-in-law Mark Cashman of Wessington Springs.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Foothills Bible Fellowship (210 5th St NW, Wessington Springs, SD 57382). A prayer was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Prospect Hill Cemetery.
