It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Andersen of Wessington Springs, South Dakota, who passed away on January 11, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl, Jr. Andersen and Agnes Andersen (Aalbu); and his brother Arne. He is survived by: his wife Marcella Westlake; his children, Curtis (Nancy) of Colton and Lori Viereck (Chad) of Canistota; his grandchildren, Devin of Sioux Falls, Kayla Leggett (Steven) of North Carolina, Caitlyn and Mia of Vermillion; his brother Roger (Sandy) of Rapid City; his cousins, Mary Thompson (Roger) of Wessington Springs and Steve Aalbu (Jane) of Spearfish; and his sister-in-law Joanne Andersen of Watertown. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church (210 Dunham Ave N, Wessington Springs, SD 57382). A memorial service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
