He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilford Hammitt and Mildred Hammitt (Bonander). He is survived by: his children, Craig Hammitt of Webster, SD and Julie Hilgemann (Bob) of Aberdeen, SD; his grandchildren, Bobi Carroll (Luke) of Waukee, IA and Josh Hilgemann of Aberdeen, SD; and his sister Constance Zimmerman (Connie) of Mesa, AZ. He is also survived by 3 nephews, 1 niece.
Ron was known for his kindness and willingness to help others and is doing so even in the afterlife as he has donated his body to USD Medical School in Vermillion.
