He was predeceased by: his brother David. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Strand; his children, Lisa Brickey (Larry) of Savage, MN, Wayne Schlotte (Kristi) of Webster, SD, Kellie Townsend (Dean) of Pierpont, SD and Sara Strande (Tim) of Mankato, MN.; his grandchildren, Kevin, Trevor Brickey, Eryn, Ethan Schlotte, Cassandra, Travis Townsend, Drew and Dylan Strande; his sisters, Carol Derdall (Gene) and Dorothy Dorwart (Larry) of Kimball, SD; and his siblings-in-law, Charlene Schlotte and Gary Strand (Bonnie). He is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews.
