He is survived by: his wife Carol Schmit of Bristol, SD.; his children, Michael Schmit of Sioux Falls, SD, Patricia Sjurson (Scott) of Webster, SD, Pamela Sichmeller (Michael) of Conway, AR, Lisa Schmit of Denver, CO and Mark Schmit (Susan) of Bristol, SD; his siblings, Bernard Schmit (Paqui) of Orlando, FL and Lillian Denholm (Dennis) of Ipswich, SD; his sister-in-law Maria "Lu" Schmit of Denver, CO; and his great grandchildren, Jamie, Ryan Dott, Jessica, Broderick Moeller, Nikki Sjurson, Kimberly Sjurson, Chad, Stephanie Sjurson, Patrick Sichmeller, Christopher Sichmeller, Rebecca, Adam Kordsmeier (Braden), Stephen, Amanda Sichmeller, Laura Schmit and Jonathan Schmit. He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren.
