With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Jean Bakke (Webster, South Dakota), born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Jean left this world on May 6, 2024 at the age of 99, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Selgestad and Dorothy Selgestad; her husband Graydon Bakke; her son Gregory Allan; her grandson Travis Bakke; and her siblings, Leon, Vincent Selgestad and Mary Newcomb.

She is survived by: her son Kevin Gene (Patty) of Rapid City, SD; her grandchildren, Trevor Bakke of Minnesota and Sara Bakke (Jamie Stanton); her great grandchildren, Madeline Bakke, Graydon J. Bakke and Seth Bakke-Stanton; and her sisters, JoAnn Redmann of Renton, WA and Susan Deniger of Port Orchard, WA. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Jean was a very active member of the Webster community, beginning as a volunteer at the Day County Museum in 1954 and eventually becoming the (volunteer) Director of the Museum, serving for 66 years until the museum was temporarily closed due to Covid.
