He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Ackerman (Temple) and Paul Ackerman; his son James Courtney; his sister Ella; and his wife Marilyn "Kay" Ackerman.
He is survived by: his daughter Amber Leah; his grandchildren, Briana, Karyssa, Cassidi and Blaize; and his great grandchild Scarlett. He is also survived by three grand-daughters, one grand-son, and one great grand-daughter.
