She was predeceased by: her parents, Mathias Jaspers and Loretta Jaspers; her husband Laverne Rice; her brother Valery Jaspers; her brother-in-law Melvin Opitz; her nephew John D. Jaspers; and her niece Rita Opitz.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Rice (Angela) of Kansas City and Linda Schilling (David) of Huxley, Iowa; her grandsons, Kyle and Brandon Schilling; her siblings, Rosa Lee Opitz, Kay Goehner (Ken) and John Jaspers (Mary Sue); and her sister-in-law Sylvia Jaspers. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be sent to the family where they will be distributed as Germaine wished or to Israel Hospice Home.
