She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hulscher and Hildegard Hulscher (Kranz); her husband Ralph Thyen; her siblings, Ruth Ebbers, Robert and John Jr.; her sons-in-law, Corky Sour and Dean Luikens; and her grandson-in-law Brett Schmidt.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Michael Thyen, Brian Thyen, Eric Sour, Blaine Hyde, Nathan Thyen, Kevin Berg, Ryan Thyen, Andrew Thyen, Jason Thyen, Alex Thyen, Daniel Seitz, Chris Noem, Cheryl Hansen, Rochelle Schmidt, Eva Engebretson, Heather Kockelman, Kathryn Jurrens, Janelle Bludorn, Jessica Goens, Emily De Beer, Kelsey Bludorn, Natalie Arendsee, Sara Thyen, Samantha Thyen and Elizabeth Thyen; her children, Ronald (Dianne), Phyllis Sour (Pat Karie), Ken, Lois Hyde (Doug), Mary Ellen Luikens, Bernie, Dan (Becky), Rita Berg (Tom), Sharon Dahlgren (Doug), Diane Seitz (Dan), Jim (Penny) and Russell (Heather); her grandchild Vaughn Nelson; and her sister Helen Haan of Kranzburg. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
