Velma M. Lentz Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Velma M. Lentz of Watertown, South Dakota, who passed away on November 23, 2024 at the age of 101. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Clifford A. Lentz; her parents, Matilda "Hattie" Krase (Stein) and Edwin Hattie Krase (Mathilda); her son Richard; her siblings, Evelyn Strege, Mildred Strege, Irene Lange and Lyle Krase; her son-in-law George Thompson; her grandson Michael Thompson; and her great great grandchild Melody Buth.
She is survived by: her children, Rollo Lentz (Deb) of New Ulm, MN, Darwin Lentz of Watertown, SD, David Lentz (Stacey) of Watertown, SD, Celestine Carpenter (Max) of Stockbridge, GA and Pamela Peasall (Jeff) of Wisconsin Dells, WI. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St Martin's Lutheran Church (1200 2nd St NE, Watertown, SD 57201). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorials to be sent to St. Martin's Lutheran Church or Great Plains Lutheran High School.
