As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Hazel may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Everson and Vivian Everson (Walder). She is survived by: her daughters, Dorothy Borns (Marlin) of Omaha, NE, Marilyn Borns (Dean) of Watertown, SD, Sherry Stormo (Roger) of Council Bluffs, IA and Gwen Kranz of Ft. Myers', FL; her grandson Melvin Thompson (Ronda) of South Shore, SD.; and her siblings, Dale Everson (LouAnn) of Hayti, SD and Lucille Buri of Watertown, SD. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 26 great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Conerstone Church (1350 11th St NE, Watertown, SD 57201). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers those who wish to remember Hazel in a special way may provide gifts in her memory to Avantara Watertown and Prairie Lakes Hospice.
