Douglas D. Mielitz Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas D. Mielitz of Watertown, South Dakota, who passed away on January 9, 2025, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Mielitz and Marilynn Mielitz (Milbrandt). He is survived by: his wife Kathy of Watertown, SD; his siblings, Richard "Dick" Mielitz (Tammy), Jonathan "Jay" Mielitz (Myra) and Cynthia "Cindy" Henrich (Tim) of Rosen, MN; his parents-in-law, Gerald and Lois Grimm of Milbank, SD; his siblings-in-law, Lonnie Grimm of Aberdeen, SD, Greg Grimm of Milbank, SD and Ginger Kaas (Keith) of Wentworth, SD; and his uncles, Rudy Milbrandt (Jo) of San Benito, TX and Ronnie Pinkert. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A prayer was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Mundwiler Funeral Home (1003 E 4th Ave, Milbank, SD 57252). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (4 2nd Ave SE, Watertown, SD 57201).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Watertown Humane Society or Heifer International.
