As Denis departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Denis. Though Denis may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Lather and Ned Lather (Ole). He is survived by: his siblings, Patti Lather, Peggi Brown (North Carolina), Paula Lather, David (Minnesota) and Douglas (Laurel); and his cousin Terry Shelsta (Kathy). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 3400 8th Ave SE, Watertown, SD 57201.
Deny was co-author and promoter extraordinaire for over thirty books published by the Dave Prohl SD Coaches Against Cancer Foundation, including Tall Tales But True and South Dakota Sport Trivia with George Kiner.
