It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Talana Yellow Boy (Wanblee, South Dakota), born in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, who passed away on June 25, 2019, at the age of 30, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her mother Tina Lamont-Black Elk; her stepfather Cyrus Black Elk; her brothers, Reuben Bettelyoun (Catie), Doyle Ryan Bettelyoun, Kobe, Trey and Chase Lamont; her stepbrothers, Cyrus Black Elk Jr. of Wanblee, SD, Joseph Black Elk of Fort Yates and Dalton Black Elk of Sisseton, SD; her sisters, Amelia of Wanblee, SD and Kylie Blue Legs of Wanblee, SD; her stepsister Arlyss Black Elk of Fort Yates, N. D; her grandparents, Seth and Amelia Black Bear; her uncle Seth Jr.; her aunt Tracy Lamont; her grandmother Sandra Janis of Wanblee, SD; her aunt Nikki Rae Jacobs (Jay) of Porcupine, SD; her uncle Richard Ryan Lamont (Tiffany) of Kadoka, SD; her grandfather Stanley Wayne Janis of Parmelee, SD; her father Roger Yellow Boy; her siblings, Cole Yellow Boy of Allen, SD, Cassandra Rose Hernandez, Whitney White Eyes of Eagle Butte, SD and Skye Gutierrez of Martin, SD; and her grandmother Pauline DuBray of Allen, SD.
