John Sonstebo Sr. Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Sonstebo Sr. of Wallace, South Dakota, who passed away on November 3, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, John is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that John's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Peder Sonstebo and Rosina "Rose" Sonstebo (Rooke); his wife Karen DeGroff; and his cousin Frederick "Fritz" Sonstebo. He is survived by: his sons, John Jr. Sonstebo (Autumn) and Mike Sonstebo (Aliesha). He is also survived by His sisters in-law and brothers in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Fiksdal Funeral Service (122 W 5th Ave, Webster, SD 57274). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Calvary Lutheran Church (606 Shannon St, Wallace, SD 57272).
