We bid farewell to Violet Marie Smoot of Wall, South Dakota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 6, 2025 at the age of 93. Violet Marie touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her mother Emily Huether; her siblings, Ruth Pourier, Rosanna Shaffer, Phyllis Kilpatrick, Kathryn Lyle and William "Sonny" Huether; and her grandson Christopher Smoot.

She is survived by: her children, Barbara Williamson, John William "Bill" Smoot and Kim Smoot (Debbie); her siblings, Delja Hoffman, Marge Martin and Leroy Huether; and her grandchildren, Tyler Williamson, Lisa Gareis, Staci Kaltenbach, Rory Smoot, Dustin Smoot, Jana White and Marli Schippers. She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial has been established for the Wall High School Athletic Complex.
