He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence and Anna (Vorn); his siblings, Robert Staudenmier, Betty Staudenmier Rost and Rita Staudenmier Mascarenas; and his son-in-law John Hawkins.
He is survived by: his wife Dee Staudenmier; his sister Mary Lou Ludens (Mike) of Yankton, SD; his children, Diane Hawkins of Sioux Falls, SD, Karen Snyder (Jay) of Lincoln, NE, Julie Cutler (Rick) of New York, NY, David (JoAnn) of Chandler, AZ, Michael (Kristin) of Sioux Falls and Susan Lielkoks (Ted); his grandchildren, Tasha Clyde, Melissa Hawkins, Jacob Hawkins, Melanie Snyder, Mitchell Snyder, Charlotte Durkee, Karina Staudenmier, Rachel (Staudenmier), Kyle Spalding, Nick Staudenmier, Erin Lielkoks and Andrea Lielkoks; and his great grandchild Michael Spalding.
