Kathryn Gertrude Meyer Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kathryn Gertrude Meyer of Volga, South Dakota, who passed away on September 24, 2023, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Marcus Schonewill and Helene Schonewill (Vanden Berg); her husband Henry O. Meyer; her siblings, Gertrude, Ruth, Edward, Burnette and Duane; and her son-in-law Larry Brown.
She is survived by: her children, Karen Houtman (Charles) of Canby, Shirleen Brown of Highland, Vonda Lohan (John) of Watertown, Roger (Wanda Hai) of Volga and James Meyer (Paula) of Brookings; her sisters, Laura Mans of Brookings and Carol Albright of Melbourne, Florida; and her sister-in-law Dorothy Schonewill of Sioux Falls. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; thirty-nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
Memorials are preferred to the Volga Christian School.
