She was predeceased by: her parents, Nels Nielsen and Tillie Nielsen (Hansen); her husband Robert Petersen; her son Charles; and her brother Norman "Bud" Nielsen.
She is survived by: her daughters, Susan and Lois Wirth (Mike) of Viborg; her grandchildren, Amanda (Brian) and Adam (Jessica); her great grandchildren, Roy, Christopher, Justin, Adam Jr., James and Ryker; her close friends, Tim, Tam Sorensen, Laura (Aaron), Matt (Michelle), Heather (Carter), Travis, Riley, Kendra, Troy, Braxton, Chloe, Ellie and Knoxon; and her siblings-in-law, Eugene (Judy), Glennys, Arlyce and Dianne (Ted).
