Roger Tigert Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roger Tigert of Vermillion, South Dakota, who passed away on October 13, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Roger Tigert to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Austin and Wayne Shuff; his aunts and uncles, Ruth, Fritz Moritz, Verna and Otto Jensen; his cousin Doug Moritz; and his siblings-in-law, Dick Anderson and Bev Palmer (Richard).
He is survived by: his wife Pat of Vermillion; his children, Teresa Janssen (Larry) of Crofton, NE, Robert Tigert of Vermillion and Phillip Tigert (Jennifer) of Douglas, WY; his sister Sharon Shuff of Rapid City, SD; his sister-in-law Sandy Smit (Cornelius) of Slayton, SD.; his grandchildren, Amanda McColgan (Janssen), Tim Tigert, Tayler Walker (Tigert), AJ Janssen, Tessa Pyle (Tigert), Sam Tigert, Sydney Tigert, Tyler Janssen, Trevor Tigert and Travis Tigert; and his great grandchildren, Brayden Walker, Blakely Walker, James Tigert and Everleigh Janssen. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He attended the University of South Dakota as a National Science Foundation Grant recipient and then served as a school superintendent in Oldham, SD, Judith Gap, MT, Winnett, MT, Hays, MT, Joplin, MT, and Wakonda, SD.
